Anke Behmer
Anke Behmer (born father ; born June 5, 1961 in Stavenhagen ) is a former German athlete who - starting for the GDR - was one of the world's best heptathletes in the 1980s and early 1990s .
Life
In 1980, after the introduction of the heptathlon, she became the first female GDR champion. At the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, she was able to because of the boycott not participate in the GDR. In 1986 she married the Neubrandenburg triple jumper Bodo Behmer and since then has competed under her new name. Her greatest successes were winning the 1986 European Championship in Stuttgart and the bronze medal at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul with a personal best (6858 points, individual performances: 13.20 s - 1.83 m - 14.20 m - 23.10 s - 6.68 m - 44.54 m - 2: 04.20 min). For her sporting success in Seoul she was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in bronze. In 1984 she received this medal in silver.
Anke Behmer started for SC Neubrandenburg and trained with Klaus Baarck . When she competed, she was 1.74 m tall and weighed 62 kg. In the documents on state doping in the GDR that became public after the reunification , the name of Behmer was also found among the doped athletes. From 1980 to 1985 she was an unofficial employee of the Ministry for State Security of the GDR. Since retiring from active sport, she has been running a physiotherapy practice in Neubrandenburg.
