All-around meeting Götzis

The Götzis all-around meeting (also Mösle-Meeting or Hypo-Meeting after the sponsor Hypo Vorarlberg Bank ) is an athletics competition in the Austrian market town of Götzis . The decathlon and heptathlon competition, which is considered to be the best-attended all-around meeting of the season, has been held annually in the Möslestadion at the end of May and beginning of June since 1975 and is the most important sporting event in Vorarlberg . The competition is part of the IAAF World Combined Events Challenge .

The prize money is 100,000 euros annually. In 2020 the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic .

Hypo-Meeting 2015

history

The event was founded in 1975 by Luis Fessler, Armin Hug, Konrad Lerch, Elmar Oberhauser and Werner Ströhle and in the following years attracted the majority of the world's top decathlon and pentathlon or, from 1981, heptathlon.

So far, three decathlon world records have been set in Götzis: 1980 and 1982 by Daley Thompson (8648 and 8730 points) and 2001 by Roman Šebrle (9026 points).

Like the heptathlete Carolina Klüft, Šebrle had an extraordinary series of five wins in a row.
