Le Shundra Nathan

Le Shundra Nathan (also: DeDee Nathan ; born April 20, 1968 in Birmingham , Alabama ) is a former American heptathlete .

In 1991 she won gold at the Pan American Games in Havana. In 1993 she was eighth in the pentathlon at the World Indoor Championships in Toronto and came 17th at the World Championships in Stuttgart .

In 1995 she was eighth at the World Championships in Gothenburg and won bronze at the Pan American Games in Mar del Plata , in 1997 she was seventh in the pentathlon at the World Indoor Championships in Paris and at the World Championships in Athens .

In 1999 she won the pentathlon of the indoor world championships in Maebashi and the all-around meeting Götzis . The following year, she qualified as a winner in the US elimination match for the Olympic Games in Sydney , after narrowly missing out on fourth place in 1992 and 1996, and finished ninth there. In 2001 she defended her US title and finished seventh at the World Championships in Edmonton .
