Nadine Broersen (* 29. April 1990 in Hoorn ) is a Dutch athlete , referring to the heptathlon specializes.
Athletic career
Broersen was a versatile track and field athlete from a young age. Nevertheless, she only found herself in an all-around competition in 2009 at the age of 18 and was fifth with 5456 points at the Junior European Championships in Novi Sad . In the following years she achieved consistently good results in international competitions, but could not win any medals. At the U23 European Championships in 2011 she was ninth, a year later at the Olympic Games in London she was twelfth after a botched start and tenth at the 2013 World Championships . In addition, she always took top places in national championships, also in individual disciplines, and holds the Dutch high jump record with 1.94 m.
In 2014 she achieved her international breakthrough with two successes, when she won the gold medal in the pentathlon at the World Indoor Championships in Sopot and came second in the heptathlon at the European Championships in Zurich behind Antoinette Nana Djimou Ida .
At the 2015 World Athletics Championships , Broersen started in the heptathlon and finished fourth with 6491 points. In 2017 Broersen took part in the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Belgrade , where he came in fifth.
In June 2019, the 29-year-old was third behind the two Austrians Verena Preiner and Ivona Dadic at the Ratingen all-around meeting with 6232 points .
