The women's 100-meter run at the European Athletics Championships in 1986 was held on August 26 and 27, 1986 in the Neckar Stadium in Stuttgart .

The reigning world champion , Olympic runner-up in 1980 and European record holder Marlies Göhr won her third European Championship title over 100 meters . Second place went to Bulgarian Anelija Nunewa . Bronze went to Nelli Cooman from the Netherlands .
