The women's 1500-meter run at the European Athletics Championships in 1986 was held on August 29 and 31, 1986 in the Neckar Stadium in Stuttgart .

In this competition there was a double victory for the Soviet runners. Rawilja Agletdinova became European champion . The 3000 meter Olympic champion from 1980 Tetjana Samolenko won the silver medal. Bronze went to the Romanian Olympic runner-up in 1984 and 800 meters - Olympic champion from 1984 Doina Melinte .
