Ivana Kubešová

Ivana Kubešová (born Kleinová , divorced Walterová ; born May 26, 1962 in Šumperk ) is a former Czech middle and long-distance runner .

In 1983 she won bronze over 1500 m at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Budapest . At the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki she was eleventh over the same distance and eliminated over 3000 m in the prelim.

A bronze medal over 3000 m at the European Indoor Championships 1984 in Gothenburg was followed by a seventh place over 1500 m at the 1985 European Indoor Championships in Piraeus.

At the European Athletics Championships in 1986 in Stuttgart, she was fourth over 1500 m, and at the Indoor European Championships in 1987 in Liévin, she won bronze over the same distance.

In 1991 she won silver at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Seville , but was eliminated over the same distance at the World Championships in Tokyo in the preliminary run. At the Indoor European Championships in Genoa in 1992 , she was seventh over 1500 m.

In 1983 she was Czechoslovakian champion over 3000 m, in 1984 and 1986 over 1500 m and 1990 over 800 m . In 1982 she won the Czechoslovak title over 3000 m and in 1983 and 1985 over 1500 m. In 1993 she became Czech champion over 800 m indoors and over 1500 m outdoors.
