The women's marathon at the 1986 European Athletics Championships took place on August 26, 1985 in Stuttgart , FR Germany .

The Portuguese Rosa Mota won the race in 2:28:38 h. The Italian Laura Fogli became vice European champion . Yekaterina Khramenkova from the Soviet Union won the bronze medal.
