The 1500 Meters of women in the 2006 European Athletics Championships was on 11 and 13 August 2006 at the Ullevi stadium of the city of Gothenburg held.

The Russian runners also achieved a double victory in the second middle distance . European Champion, the double world champion (was 2003 / 2005 ), Olympic silver medalist from 2004 and EM -Third of 2002 Tatjana Tomaschowa . She won ahead of Julija Tschischenko . Bronze went to Daniela Jordanowa from Bulgaria .

As in almost all women's races, the pace was accelerated from the start in this decision. The two-time world champion Tatjana Tomaschowa was able to win European championship gold after bronze in Munich in 2002 . Bulgarian Daniela Jordanowa, fifth in Munich 2002, took third place in the final sprint and prevented a Russian triple victory.
