Corina Dumbrăvean

Corina Dumbrăvean (born April 15, 1984 in Bistrița ) is a former Romanian middle-distance runner who specialized in the 1,500 meter run .

Dumbrăvean won the silver medal in the 1500 meter run behind her compatriot Elena Iagăr at the European Athletics Indoor Championships 2005 in Madrid with a personal indoor best of 4: 05.88 min . In the same year she became national champion over 800 m and 1500 meters. She also won the Balkan Championships in the 1,500 meter run. Over the same distance she finished sixth at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Moscow in 2006 . At the European Championships in Gothenburg in 2006 , she also achieved sixth place with a personal best of 4: 02.34 minutes.

Dumbrăvean was banned for two years on November 16, 2007 for a doping offense . When she refused a doping test in 2010 , she was suspended for life on June 3 for this second offense.
