Elena Antoci

Elena Antoci (born Buhăianu , divorced Iagăr ; born January 16, 1975 in Brașov ) is a Romanian middle-distance runner .

In 1999 she won bronze over 800 m and gold over 1500 m at the Universiade and was sixth over 1500 m at the World Athletics Championships in Seville , in 2000 she was eliminated at the Olympic Games in Sydney over 800 m in the preliminary run and reached over 1500 m Semifinals.

A preliminary round from over 1500 m at the World Championships 2001 in Edmonton followed over the same distance the silver medal at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 2002 in Vienna and a sixth place at the 2003 World Indoor Athletics Championships in Birmingham. At the European Athletics Championships in Munich in 2002 and at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, she was eliminated over 1500 m in the preliminary run.

The following year Antoci won the 1500 m at the European Indoor Championships in Madrid .

In 2008 she was suspended by the Romanian Olympic team after the A sample tested positive for erythropoietin (EPO) during a doping control .
