Agnese Possamai

Agnese Possamai (born January 17, 1953 in Lentiai , Belluno province ) is a former Italian middle and long distance runner .

Life

At the Olympic Games in Moscow in 1980, she was eliminated in the 800 m and 1500 m respectively in the preliminary run.

In 1981 she won the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Grenoble over 1500 m. At the Cross Country World Championships in Madrid , she came fourth and won bronze with the team. The following year she won over 3000 m at the European Indoor Championships in Milan . Again she finished fourth at the Cross Country World Championships in Rome and this time won silver with the team. At the European Athletics Championships in Athens in 1982 , she was ninth over 3000 m.

In 1983 she won silver at the European Indoor Championships in Budapest . A sixth place at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki over 3000 m was followed by double gold over 1500 m and 3000 m at the Mediterranean Games . In 1984 she was tenth over 3000 m at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles .

In 1985 she won silver over 3000 m at the World Indoor Athletics Games in Paris and gold at the European Indoor Championships in Piraeus . At the World Championships in Rome in 1987 , she was eliminated over 1500 m and 3000 m in the preliminary run.

Twice she was Italian champion over 800 m (1978, 1979), five times over 3000 m (1982-1985, 1987), seven times in cross-country running ( 1978, 1980-1982, 1984-1986) and twice in mountain running (1980, 1981). In the hall she won the 1500 m title five times (1979–1981, 1984, 1986) and three times the 3000 m title (1982–1984).
