Ekaterina Alexandrovna Pushanova

Jekaterina Alexandrovna Pusanova ( Russian Екатерина Александровна Пузанова ; English transcription Yekaterina Aleksandrovna Puzanova ; born January 1, 1979 ) is a former Russian middle-distance runner .

In 2002 she became Russian indoor champion over 800 m and 1500 m and won the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Vienna over 1500 m. Over the same distance she was eliminated in the summer at the European Championships in Munich in the run-up.

In 2003 she defended her national indoor title over 800 m. Over the same distance she finished sixth at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham , but was tested positive for androstenedione and the nandrolone breakdown product norandrosterone during the subsequent doping control , was disqualified and suspended for two years for this violation of the doping regulations .
