Margaret Beacham

Margaret Beacham ( Margaret Anne Beacham , née Moir ; born September 28, 1946 ) is a former British middle-distance runner .

After she became British runner-up in the mile run in 1967 and British runner-up over 1500 meters in 1970 , she won the British indoor title over 1500 meters in 1971. Shortly thereafter, she won the same distance at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Sofia in the fastest indoor world time of 4: 17.2 minutes.

In 1972 she became the British 800 meter indoor champion . At the European Indoor Championships in Grenoble in 1972 , she was eliminated in the semifinals.
