Natalija Wiktoriwna Tobias ( Ukrainian Наталія Вікторівна Тобіас , English transcription Nataliya Tobias , née Сидоренко Sydorenko ; born November 22, 1980 in Serow , Russian SFSR ) is a Ukrainian middle-distance runner who also starts on the 1,500-meter distance operated as an obstacle runner.

In 2003 she won gold at the Universiade , and in 2004 she was fifth at the World Indoor Championships in Budapest . At the Olympic Games in Athens she made it to the semifinals.

In 2006 she finished seventh at the European Championships in Gothenburg . At the subsequent World Athletics Championships she was eleventh and also started over 3000 m obstacle, but failed there in the prelim.

She achieved her greatest success so far at the Olympic Games in Beijing . Over 1500 m she won the bronze medal with her personal record of 4: 01.78 minutes behind Nancy Jebet Langat (KEN) and her compatriot Iryna Lishchynska .

Shortly before the 2012 Olympic Games , Tobias was banned for two years, until June 10, 2014, because synthetic testosterone had been found in her urine sample from the 2011 World Athletics Championships during a follow-up examination and she had refrained from opening the B sample.
