Lisa Jane Dobriskey (born December 23, 1983 in Ashford ) is a British athlete who came second in the 2009 World Championships in the 1,500-meter run .

Career

After finishing fourth at the Junior World Championships in 2002, Dobriskey finished second at the U23 European Championships in 2003. She achieved her greatest victory at the Commonwealth Games in 2006 , in 4: 06.21 minutes she won in the jersey of the English team. After she was eliminated in the semi-finals at the 2007 World Championships , Dobriskey reached the final at the 2008 Olympics . In the finals in Beijing, she improved her personal best to 4: 02.10 minutes and finished fourth.

In Berlin at the 2009 World Championships she reached the final again, in which she stayed out of all turmoil and only stormed forward on the home straight. Behind the Spaniard Natalia Rodríguez , she crossed the finish line almost level with the defending champion Maryam Yusuf Jamal , after the final photo decision, Dobriskey was a hundredth of a second behind the Bahraini runner with 4: 03.75 minutes. After Rodríguez was subsequently disqualified for jostling, Jamal received the gold medal and Dobriskey silver. Only a few days after the World Championships, Dobriskey improved her best performance to 3: 59.50 minutes at the Weltklasse Zürich sports festival . At the European Championships in 2010 , she ran in fourth place, at the Olympic Games in London in 2012 she was sixth.

At a height of 1.70 meters, her competition weight is 58 kilograms. She is a graduate of Loughborough University .
