Rawilja Agletdinova

Ravilya Agletdinova ( Russian Равиля Аглетдинова ., English transcription Ravilya Agletdinova, after marriage Котович - Kotowitsch - Kotovich * 10. February 1960 in Kurgan-Tyube , Tajik SSR ; † 25. June 1999 in Zhlobin , Belarus ) was a Soviet middle distance runner .

Living in Belarus since 1980, she was eliminated in the semifinals over 800 meters at the European Championships in Athens in 1982 . At the World Championships in Helsinki in 1983 , she was fourth over 1500 meters in 4: 02.67 min .

1985 was her best year. She became the Soviet champion over 800 and 1500 meters, won the European Cup over 1500 meters in a personal best of 3: 58.40 minutes and came second in the World Cup behind Hildegard Körner from the GDR . In 1986 she won the 1986 European Championships in Stuttgart in 4: 01.19 minutes ahead of Tatjana Samolenko .

After a break from competition of several years, she came back in 1990 as Rawilja Kotowitsch. She won the Soviet championship in 1990 over 3000 meters . In 1991 she came in 15th place over 1500 meters at the World Championships in Tokyo .

Rawilja Agletdinova was 1.68 m tall and weighed 57 kg. On June 25, 1999, she died after a traffic accident near Shlobin in Belarus.
