Hildegard Körner (born Ullrich ; born December 20, 1959 in Urnshausen ) is a former German athlete and Olympic participant ( starting for the GDR ) who was among the world's best in middle-distance running in the 1970s and 1980s . Her greatest success is second place in the 1500 meter run (3: 58.67 min) at the World Athletics Championships in 1987 . During this time she is second in the all-time German best list over 1500 m.

In 1980 she started at the Olympic Games in Moscow in the 800 meter run and finished fifth (1: 57.20 min). She also came in fifth at the European Athletics Championships in Prague in 1978 and in Athens in 1982 (1: 57.45 min and 1: 58.19 min, respectively).

In 1986 she was awarded the Silver Patriotic Order of Merit .

Hildegard Körner is 1.68 m tall and weighed 56 kg during her active time. She started for the SC Turbine Erfurt .
