Larissa Alexandrowna Zhao ( Russian Лариса Александровна Чжао , English transcription Larisa Chzhao , Russian Чжао Tschschao ; born February 4, 1971 ) is a Russian middle-distance runner whose special distance is the 800 m .

By far the most successful season she had in 2005, when she first became Russian champion in the hall, won the European Indoor Athletics Championships in Madrid , finished sixth at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki and finally came fifth at the World Athletics Finals .
