Schlobin ( white soot. : Жлобін , Russ. : Жлобин ) is a city in Belarus in the Gomel Region . It is located on the Dnepr and has 75,335 inhabitants (2013). Shlobin is the administrative center of the Shlobin district .
Schlobin was first mentioned in 1492.
The city is the location of the steel producer BMZ, one of the world's largest manufacturers of steel cables. The company is the main employer in Schlobin.
