Iryna Slyussar

Iryna Sljussar ( Ukrainian Ірина Слюсар , English transcription Iryna Slyusar ; born March 19, 1963 in Dniprodzerzhynsk , Ukrainian SSR ) is a former Ukrainian athlete who competed internationally for the Soviet Union.

Slyussar was the Soviet champion in the 100-meter run in 1984 . Over the same distance, she won the 1985 Summer Universiade in Kobe. In 1986 she won the Soviet championships in the 60-meter run indoors and outdoors over 100 meters. At the World Athletics Championships in Rome in 1987 , she won the bronze medal behind the teams from the United States and the GDR as a starting runner in the 4 x 100 meter relay together with Natalja Pomoschtschnikowa , Natalja German and Olga Antonowa . In addition, she reached the semi-finals in the 100-meter run, which she succeeded again at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo in 1991 . In 1993 she became the Ukrainian champion in the 100 and 200 meters .
