Egoitz Murgoitio Recalde (born August 7, 1983 in Abadiño ) is a former Spanish cyclist .

Career

In 1999 Murgoitio became Spanish champion in cyclocross in the youth class and in 2003 in the U23 class. On the road , he won a stage at the Vuelta a Ávila in 2006 and was also third in the overall standings. He then drove in 2007 for the Spanish Continental Team Grupo Nicolás Mateos . Between 2010 and 2013 he won a total of nine cross races on the international calendar and was the Spanish runner-up in the cross elite in 2012 and 2013

In January 2014 Murguoitio declared his career over, but in 2015 the then 32-year-old Basque returned and started at the Ciclocross de Abadiño .
