Udiča Church

Udiča was first mentioned in writing in 1321 as duae willae Wdicha, i.e. as two separate places called Wdich (a). The present community was established in 1959 through the merger of the places Malá Udiča (Hungarian Kisudva , Kisugyics ), Okrut (Hungarian Vágköre ) and Veľká Udiča (Hungarian Nagyudva , Nagyugyics ). In 1976 and 1979 respectively, Upohlav and Prosné were added. Okrut was flooded in 1955 during the construction of the dam.
