Pružina ( Hungarian Barossháza - until 1902 Pruzsina ) is a municipality in Slovakia .
location
The municipality is located between the Strážovské vrchy and Súľovské vrchy mountain ranges , on the banks of the Pružinka stream . It is 17 km away from the town of Považská Bystrica .
history
The place was first mentioned in 1272 as Prusina , it belonged to the estate of the Košeca Castle.
By 1900, the town was in honor of the locally born in Hungarian politician Gábor Baross in Barossháza renamed.
structure
In addition to the main town, the town of Briestenné to the east (incorporated in 1971) also belongs to the municipality . The northern place Ďurďové was 1975-1990 part of the municipality. Also Mojtín was before 1863, a part of the community.
