history

Archaeological studies prove settlements from the Hallstatt period, the Puchau culture , the Latène period, the Roman period and the time of the Moravian Empire .

The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1385 as Prichen and initially belonged to the Perecsényi and Podmaniczky families as an estate, and later to the estate of Waagbistritz. In 1828 there were 45 houses and 437 inhabitants who were employed in forestry and agriculture.

Until 1918, both places in Trenčín County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

The now independent communities Bodiná and Počarová were 1979–1990 and 1976–1992 districts of Prečín.
