Plevník-Drienové is a municipality in the Okres Považská Bystrica in the Trenčiansky kraj area in Slovakia with about 1,600 inhabitants.
The community is located in a basin on the left bank of the Waag on the Drienovka brook , below the Súľovské vrchy mountain range in the east. The height of the municipality varies between 290 m nm on the river Waag and 813 m nm on the mountain Malý Manín. Plevník-Drienové is located eight kilometers northeast of Považská Bystrica , 18 kilometers southwest of Žilina and 52 kilometers northeast of Trenčín .
The community was created in 1952 through the merger of the previously independent communities Plevník (first mentioned in 1354, Hungarian Pelyvás ) and Drienové (first mentioned in 1458, Hungarian Vágsomfalu ).
The Slovak writer Dominik Tatarka was born in the village in 1913 .
