Mojtín (Hungarian Hegyesmajtény - until 1902 Mojtény ) is a municipality in northwestern Slovakia in the middle of the Strážovské vrchy Mountains .
The place was first mentioned in writing as Moite in 1364 , but disappeared in the 16th century and was only mentioned again in the 18th century. It appears as an independent municipality again from 1863, before it was part of Pružina .
