Vydrná (Hungarian Vidornya - until 1907 Vidrna ) is a municipality in northwestern Slovakia , with 303 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which belongs to Okres Púchov , part of Trenčiansky kraj .
geography
The municipality is located in the southwestern part of the Javorníky Mountains in the valley of the Vydrná brook , near the border with the Czech Republic . The center of the village is at an altitude of 409 m nm and is 12 kilometers from Púchov .
Neighboring municipalities are Lazy pod Makytou in the west and north, Horná Mariková in the northeast, Dolná Mariková in the east, Dohňany (district Zbora) in the southeast, Mestečko and Záriečie in the south and Lúky in the southwest.
history
Vydrná was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1475 as Wydrna and belonged to the dominion of Lednica Castle . In 1598 there were 13 houses in Wydrna, in 1784 the village had 96 houses, 109 families and 661 inhabitants, in 1828 there were 101 houses and 622 inhabitants who were employed as farmers and fruit growers.
Until 1918 the place in Trenčín County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or today's Slovakia.
From 1979 to 1990 Vydrná was part of the neighboring municipality of Lúky.
population
According to the 2011 census, Vydrná had 350 inhabitants, 340 Slovaks and two Czechs . Eight residents did not provide any information about their ethnicity .
252 residents supported the Evangelical Church AB, 71 residents the Roman Catholic Church, two residents the Evangelical Methodist Church and one resident each for the Baha'i, the Brethren and the Greek Catholic Church. Nine residents were without religious denomination and the denomination was not determined for 13 residents.
