Visolaje (until 1927 in Slovak "Visolaj"; in Hungarian Viszolaj ) is a municipality in northwestern Slovakia on the Pružinka river.
The place was first mentioned in writing as Wizolay in 1327 . In 1796 there was a brewery, a schnapps distillery and a paper factory in the village, in the 18th century Count Csáky had a castle and an orchard built from raw and stone bricks. The inhabitants were mainly engaged in agriculture, beekeeping, the production of honey wine and, after the establishment of Czechoslovakia, basket making and fruit tree cultivation.
In 1947 a factory for fur dyeing and finishing was opened in the village (Holický-Bobula), which was nationalized the following year.
The church, which was built in 1332 and redesigned in Baroque style in 1786, is worth seeing.
