Judy Simpson

Judy Simpson ( Judy Earline Veronica Livermore; née Livermore ; born November 14, 1960 in Kingston ) is a former British athlete of Jamaican origin who had her greatest successes in the heptathlon .

At the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow, she came in 13th place in the pentathlon .

In 1982 she won silver in the heptathlon for England starting at the Commonwealth Games in Brisbane and was fifth over the 100 m hurdles . At the European Athletics Championships in Athens , she finished seventh in the heptathlon. The following year she won bronze at the Universiade . At the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 1983 , she gave up after her failed javelin throw and reached the semifinals over 100 m hurdles.

At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, she was fifth in the heptathlon and was eliminated in the high jump in qualification. 1985 followed another bronze medal at the Universiade.

1986 followed a victory at the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh bronze at the EM in Stuttgart . At the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988 she gave up after the second discipline, at the Commonwealth Games in 1990 in Auckland she won bronze.

In 1982 and 1983 she was English champion in heptathlon and in 1985 English indoor champion over 60 m . She also became the British 100 m hurdles champion in 1985.
