Corinne Schneider

Corinne Di Tizio-Schneider (born July 28, 1962 ) is a former Swiss athlete specializing in heptathlon .

The Aargau woman was three times Swiss champion in the heptathlon and held the Swiss record for 32 years. She was also once Swiss champion in high jump . In 1982 she took part in a major international championship for the first time, at the European Championships in Athens she reached 16th place with 5737 points. A year later, at the 1983 World Championships in Helsinki, she finished 14th at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles 6042 points in tenth place. In 1988 in Seoul she was 13th with 6157 points.

In 1980 she set the first Swiss record in the heptathlon, and by 1985 she improved the record seven times. In 1984 she was the first Swiss woman to surpass the 6000 point mark in Innsbruck. On June 15 and 16, 1985, she set a long-standing Swiss record in Zug with 6265 points.

With a height of 1.77 m, her competition weight was 62 kg.
