Sébastien Frey (born March 18, 1980 in Thonon-les-Bains ) is a former French football player . He always played in the position of goalkeeper .
Career
society
Sébastien Frey started his career at AS Cannes , which was relegated at the end of Frey's first season. He then moved to Inter Milan , but initially only made seven appearances in Serie A and was loaned to Hellas Verona for the following season, where he was player of the year in Italy. During the 2000/01 season , Frey became the goalkeeper at Inter Milan. However, he moved again after only one season, this time to AC Parma (from 2004 FC Parma ); here he stayed longer under contract for the first time and was also able to win the Coppa Italia in 2002. In 2005 he signed with the league rivals Fiorentina . Half of the 2005/06 season was Frey due to a knee injury he sustained in a Coppa Italia game against Juventus Turin . After his cruciate ligament rupture, Frey was only a substitute goalkeeper behind Artur Boruc .
Due to a crack in the cross, Frey played only eleven league games for Fiorentina in the 2010/11 season. After this season Frey moved to CFC Genoa , where he signed a five-year contract.
In the summer of 2013 the move from Frey to the Turkish Süper Lig to Bursaspor was announced. Here he only played in the first season; In 2014/15 he was only once in the squad in the cup quarter-final first leg against Gençlerbirliği Ankara on March 4, 2015 , but did not play a competitive game in the entire season and left the club at the end of the season.
National team
On November 21, 2007 Frey made his debut for the French national team in the European Championship qualifier against Ukraine . At the European Championship finals in 2008 he was part of the French squad , but was not used. In August of that year he declared that he wanted to concentrate on his club and that he was no longer available for the national team.

His brother Nicolas plays as a defender for AC Chievo Verona . He lost his debut against his brother Sébastien 0-2.
