Grit Šadeiko (born July 29, 1989 in Saku , Estonian SSR , USSR ) is an Estonian heptathlete .
Athletic career
In 2005 Grit Šadeiko took part in the youth world championships in Marrakech and finished there in seventh place. At the World Junior Athletics Championships in 2008 in Bydgoszcz , Poland , she won the bronze medal and thus the only Estonian medal at this championship. In 2009 she was able to qualify for the U23 European Championships , but could not finish her competition there. At the 2010 European Championships in Barcelona, Spain, Šadeiko finished 19th with 5761 points. In 2011 she took part in the European Indoor Championships in Paris , which she finished in ninth place. In summer she won the gold medal at the U23 European Championships in Ostrava, Czech Republic, with a new personal best of 6134 points . She qualified for the World Championships , which she did not finish again. The same applies to the 2012 European Championships in Helsinki. She also qualified for the London Olympics , which she finished in 23rd place .
In 2013 she took part in the World Championships in Moscow , which she did not finish again. However, she set a new Estonian record of 6321 points at a meeting in her home country this season. In 2014 she took part in the European Championships in Zurich , where she was 15th, as well as in the 2015 World Championships in Beijing . In 2016 she took part again in the Olympic Games , but stopped after one discipline. At the Hypomeeting 2017 in Götzis, she improved her own national record to 6280 points and thus qualified for the World Championships in London.
Her younger sister Grete Šadeiko is also a heptathlete .
