The 4th World Athletics Championships took place from July 13th to 17th, 2005 in the Moroccan city ​​of Marrakech in the local Sidi Youssef Ben-Ali stadium .

It was the largest youth world championship to date with almost 1,400 athletes from 179 countries.

The German Athletics Association (DLV) sent 16 boys and 13 girls to the competitions.
