Alexander Smith (athlete)
Alexander Smith ( Alexander David "Alex" Smith; born March 6, 1988 in Kingston upon Hull ) is a British hammer thrower .
Starting in 2010, he won silver for England at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi . At the 2012 Olympic Games in London, he was twelfth.
In 2014 he finished fourth at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow .
He was British champion four times (2009–2012) and once English champion (2011). He set his personal best of 75.63 m on March 3, 2012 in Loughborough .
His father Dave Smith was also successful as a hammer thrower.
