Minna Marianne Nikkanen (born April 9, 1988 in Somero ) is a Finnish pole vaulter .

Athletic career

Nikkanen won the gold medal at the European Junior Championships 2007 with a jump of 4.35 meters and the silver medal at the U-23 European Championships with 4.45 meters. In 2009 she won the gold medal at the Finnish championships.

She jumped her personal best of 4.60 meters for the first time on August 8, 2015 in Kuortane. She also jumped 4.60 m at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing, when she finished tenth. At the Olympic Games in 2016 , like four years earlier in London, she was eliminated from the qualification.

In 2017, she achieved sixth place in the final at the European Athletics Indoor Championships with a jump of 4.55 m. She also qualified for the World Championships in London , but retired there with 4.20 m in the qualification .
