Ahmed Khader al-Muwallad (born February 16, 1988 ) is a Saudi hurdler who specializes in the 110-meter distance .

Athletic career

Ahmed al-Muwallad gained his first international experience at the 2005 World Youth Championships in Marrakech , where he finished fifth in 13.66 seconds. Two years later he was eliminated in the first round of the Asian Championships in Amman , as well as the Indoor Asian Games in Macau . The following year he was at the Asian Indoor Championships in Doha in 8.05 s fifth over 60 m hurdles. In 2009 he won the Arab Championships in Damascus with the Saudi 4 x 100 meter relay and won the silver medal in the hurdles in 13.92 seconds. He then came fourth at the Indoor Asian Games in Hanoi . At the end of November he was disqualified in the final of the Asian Championships in Guangzhou . In the following year he was fourth in the hurdles at the Asian Games and finished sixth in the relay in 40.01 s.

In 2011 he was disqualified in the run-up to the Asian Championships in Kobe and was sixth at the Military World Games in Rio de Janeiro in the hurdles and with the relay. He then finished fourth at the Arab Championships in al-Ain and won the Pan-Arab Games in Doha over the hurdles and with the relay. Two years later he was disqualified at the Arab Championships in Radès . In 2015 he was eliminated from both disciplines in the first round of the Asian Championships in Wuhan and was disqualified in the final at the Military World Games in Mungyeon, South Korea . In 2017 he won the hurdles at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku and finished sixth in the relay. He then won the bronze medal at the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar in 13.61 s and won the relay at the Arab Championships in Radès. At the beginning of September he won the Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat in 7.66 s in the 60-meter hurdles . He reached the semi-finals at the 2018 World Indoor Championships in Birmingham and finished fourth at the Asian Games in Jakarta in 13.50 s at the end of August . Shortly thereafter, he was seventh in the Athletics Continental Cup in Ostrava in 13.83 s.

In 2019 he won the silver medal at the Arab Championships in Cairo in 13.90 s and retired two weeks later with 13.88 s in the run-up to the Asian Championships in Doha . He also reached fourth place with the relay in 39.52 s.
