history

Towards the end of the first millennium of our history, today's city of Mondeville appears for the first time as an Amundivilla . The name goes back to an agricultural property called a villa of a Scandinavian church lord named Amund from the Fécamp Abbey , who received it on June 15, 989 from Richard I , who was Duc of Normandy at the time . However, excavations have also uncovered the remains of a Merovingian settlement.

In the Middle Ages, Mondeville was on the Roman road from Lisieux to Vieux .
