Cauville is a French municipality with 164 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Calvados in the region of Normandy . It belongs to the arrondissement of Caen and the canton of Thury-Harcourt . The inhabitants are known as Cauvillais .

Cauville is about 33 km southwest of Caen and 30 km west-northwest of Falaise . The municipality is surrounded by Campandré-Valcongrain in the north, Culey-le-Patry in the northeast and east, Saint-Lambert in the southeast, Saint-Pierre-la-Vieille in the south, Périgny in the southwest and Le Plessis-Grimoult in the west and northwest .
