Gouvix is a French municipality with 843 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Calvados in the region of Normandy . It belongs to the arrondissement of Caen and the canton of Thury-Harcourt .
geography
Gouvix is around 18 kilometers south-southeast of Caen and 18.5 kilometers north-northwest of Falaise . The municipality is surrounded by Cintheaux in the north, Cauvicourt in the northeast, Bretteville-le-Rabet in the east, Urville in the southeast and south, Barbery in the southwest and Bretteville-sur-Laize in the northwest.
