Saint-Manvieu-Norrey is a French commune in the department of Calvados in the region Normandy is. It belongs to the arrondissement of Caen and is part of the canton of Bretteville-l'Orgueilleuse (until 2015: member municipality in the canton of Tilly-sur-Seulles ). The community has 1,927 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017), who are called Manoreys .
geography
Saint-Manvieu-Norrey is about eight kilometers west of Caen on the River Mue . Saint-Manvieu-Norrey is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bretteville-l'Orgueilleuse in the north, Rots in the north-east, Carpiquet in the east, Verson in the south and south-east, Cheux in the west and south-west, Le Mesnil-Patry in the west and north-west and Thue et Mue with Putot-en-Bessin in the northwest.
history
In 1972 the municipalities of Saint-Manvieu and Norrey-en-Bessin were merged to form today's municipality.
