Putot-en-Bessin is a former French commune with the last 412 inhabitants (as of January 1 2014) in the department of Calvados in the region of Normandy . It belonged to the arrondissement of Caen and the canton of Bretteville-l'Orgueilleuse . The inhabitants are known as Putot-Bessinois .

With effect from January 1, 2017, the municipality of Putot-en-Bessin was merged with Brouay , Bretteville-l'Orgueilleuse , Cheux , Le Mesnil-Patry and Sainte-Croix-Grand-Tonne to form the Commune nouvelle Thue et Mue .

Putot-en-Bessin is about 13 kilometers west-northwest of Caen and about 14 kilometers east-southeast of Bayeux .
