Cheux is a former French commune with last 1,287 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013) in the department of Calvados in the region of Normandy . It belonged to the arrondissement of Caen and the canton of Bretteville-l'Orgueilleuse .

On January 1, 2017, the municipality of Cheux merged with Brouay , Bretteville-l'Orgueilleuse , Le Mesnil-Patry , Putot-en-Bessin and Sainte-Croix-Grand-Tonne to form the new municipality of Thue et Mue .

geography

Cheux is located at the source of the Mue River , about 12 km west of Caen .

The municipality was surrounded by Le Mesnil-Patry in the north, Saint-Manvieu-Norrey in the northeast and east, Mouen in the southeast, Grainville-sur-Odon in the south, Tessel in the southwest and Fontenay-le-Pesnel in the west and northwest.
