Brouay is a former French commune with the last 473 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013) in the department of Calvados in the region of Normandy . It belonged to the arrondissement of Caen and the canton of Bretteville-l'Orgueilleuse . The inhabitants are known as Brouaysien .

On January 1, 2017, the municipality of Brouay merged with Bretteville-l'Orgueilleuse , Cheux , Le Mesnil-Patry , Putot-en-Bessin and Sainte-Croix-Grand-Tonne to form the new municipality of Thue et Mue .

geography

Brouay is halfway between Caen and Bayeux (around 16.5 km each).

The municipality was surrounded by Loucelles in the north, Sainte-Croix-Grand-Tonne in the northeast, Putot-en-Bessin in the east, Le Mesnil-Patry in the southeast, Cristot in the south and southwest, Audrieu in the west and Ducy-Sainte-Marguerite in northwest direction.
