Frénouville is a French commune with 1,948 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Calvados in the region of Normandy . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Caen and the canton of Troarn (until 2015: canton of Bourguébus ).

Frénouville is about ten kilometers southeast of Caen . Frénouville is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Cagny in the north, Émiéville in the north-east, Vimont in the east, Bellengreville in the south and east, Bourguébus in the south-west, Soliers in the west and south-west and Grentheville in the west and north-west.

The A813 autoroute and the former Route nationale 13 (today's D613) run through the municipality .
