The Canton Bourguébus was 2015 a French canton in the department of Calvados and in the former region Basse-Normandie . It included 24 parishes in the Arrondissement of Caen ; its main town (French: chef-lieu ) was Bourguébus . The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons resulted in its dissolution in March 2015. The last representative in the General Council of the Département was Jean-Claude Carabeufs since 1994.
history
The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the départements as part of what was then the "District de Caen". With the creation of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the arrondissement of Caen.
geography
The canton bordered the southern cantons of Caen and the canton Troarn in the north, the canton Mézidon-Canon in the Arrondissement Lisieux in the east, the canton Morteaux-Coulibœuf in the south-east, the canton Falaise-Nord in the south and the south-west the canton of Bretteville-sur-Laize and, to the west, the canton of Évrecy .
