Airan is a former French commune with the last 679 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013) in the department of Calvados in the region of Normandy . The municipality belonged to the arrondissement of Caen and the canton of Troarn (until 2015: canton of Bourguébus ). The inhabitants are called Airannais .

Airan's treasure (numerous pieces of jewelry) was recovered from the Meorwingernekropolis here .

The Airan parish merged with Billy , Conteville , Fierville-Bray and Poussy-la-Campagne to form the new Valambray parish on January 1, 2017 .
