The Canton Caen-5 is a French administrative unit in the department of Calvados in the region of Normandy . It covers a sub-area of the city of Caen and four other municipalities in the Arrondissement of Caen . During the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons, it was newly created in 2015 with Caen as bureau centralisateur .
Before that, the canton of Hérouville-Saint-Clair was nicknamed Caen 5e , although the district of Hérouville forms its own municipality and the canton had no part of the area in Caen.
