The Canton Caen-9 was until 2015 a French canton in the Arrondissement Caen , in the department of Calvados and in the former region Basse-Normandie . It consisted of the districts of Guérinière, Vaucelles and Sainte Thérèse of Caen , which was also its main town (French: chef-lieu ). The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons resulted in its dissolution in March 2015. The last representative in the General Council of the Département was Gilles Déterville since 1994 (re-elected in 2008).
