The Canton Caen-8 was until 2015 a French canton in the department of Calvados and in the former region Basse-Normandie . It comprised three parishes and parts of parishes in the arrondissement of Caen ; its main town (French: chef-lieu ) was Caen . The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons resulted in its dissolution in March 2015. Eric Vève ( PS ) was the last representative in the General Council of the Département since 2008 .
